People-to-People exchanges are the heart of the Sister Cities program. Finding the right people to visit our Sister Cities is not difficult. If you are adventurous, flexible, responsible, kind, patient, intelligent & respectful - you are a perfect candidate for the exchange process!

What can I expect?

Sister Cities is not a travel agency or tour group. We are a non-profit, citizen diplomacy network. Each exchange is unique so, you can expect a one-of-a-kind experience! The "overview" above for the outgoing exchange to Ireland provides the type of details prepared for each exchange.

What does it cost?

Costs vary based on the location

Citizen Diplomats are expected to pay for their passport (and visa for China), airfare and spending money. In most cases, the host city will provide housing (“homestays” will a local family), daily tours, ground transportation and most meals. Nearly all delegates report a "excellent" return for the financial investment made.
