Gallery Location:

11820 Merchants Walk Ste.100 City Center, Newport News, 23606

Newport News hosted over 30 Chinese artist from Chengdu City in Sichuan Province in May 2017 for a pop-up exhibition of over 80 original pieces entitled, “NO BORDERS”. The show was held in conjunction with the City’s annual World Arts Celebration – Saturday, May 20. Sister Cities hosted the exhibition in City Center at the former Jos. A. Bank retail store. Funding was provided through a grant offered by the College of William and Mary’s Confucius Institute. These skilled and noteworthy modern oil painters dazzled our community with their original art. While the show ran, many of the artists traveled on to DC, Philadelphia, New York and Boston to check out American museums. Those remaining visited area schools to serve as guest artists or lecturers for area art students.
