volunteer Leadership

Sister Cities' Board of Directors is comprised of citizens and city leaders with a passion for improving international relations. City Committees representing each partner city execute our reciprocal exchange programs. Volunteers also work diligently on fundraising, marketing and educational events for the entire community.

Board of Directors QUESTIONNAIRE
SCNN's Board of Directors is comprised of citizens and city leaders with a passion for International Relations. The Board manages and creates policy for the non-profit organization. Per the organization’s Articles of Incorporation, SCNN is tasked with undertaking activities and programs that:

“Foster and nurture international cooperation, understanding
and development between the people of Newport News, Virginia
and selected sister cities through educational, cultural, economic,
technical, medical, charitable and sports related exchanges
    and programs.”

Monthly Meetings of the SCNN Board are held:
    2nd Thursday of each month
    8:00 am to 9:15 am
@ CITY SPACE and via ZOOM

Those interested in serving on the SCNN Board must be members in good standing of the corporation and complete a questionnaire. Elections are held each year at the Annual General Membership meeting. Those interested are asked to submit a completed "Board Questionnaire" (see link below).

Questionnaires are accepted year round but should be received no later than November 1, to be considered by SCNN’s Nominating Committee for the slate at the December Annual Meeting.
