Christopher Newport University

Come out and visit Sister Cities from 10 am to 3 pm on the campus of CNU during the City of Newport News' World Arts Celebration (WAC). Sister Cities will be located inside the Torggler Fine Arts Center (first floor) with displays from our international sister city partners. Festival goers can enjoy numerous performances, cultural exhibits, and family-friendly fun outside on the lawn and in the Ferguson Center’s small theaters. FREE event / shuttle available.

 Newport News Children's Festival of Friends - May 2, 2026

Get ready for the 35th Annual Children’s Festival of Friends at Newport News Park on Saturday, May 2 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sister Cities will be onsite along with over 50 FREE activities including inflatables, costumed characters, yummy food vendors, crafts & games, live entertainment, and train rides.

Festival admission and parking are FREE . Food vendors on site ($). No pets permitted in the festival area. Newport News Park is located at the corner of Jefferson Avenue and Ft. Eustis Boulevard. From I-64E, take Exit 247 and turn left onto Jefferson Avenue. From I-64W, take Exit 250B and follow the signs to Newport News Park. For more information, call 757-926-1400.
