Celebrated the 25 anniversary of the partnership with Neyagawa, Japan

Earned recognition from Sister Cities International (SCI) as having the Most Innovative Programming for Youth and Education projects for the 2006 Newsome Park Educational Summit to Neyagawa, Japan.

Hosted 113 delegates from our international partners — Japan sent 62 visitors, China 5, and Germany 46.

Received an estimated $40,000 of In-kind donations from our volunteers, to house and feed the delegates.

SCNN successfully created and held our 1st Annual Global Bee – an International Quiz for high school , college and corporate teams featuring the topics of Local Affairs, World Geography, Science and the Environment; Economics, Current World Events, World History, International Sports, People and Places.

SCNN assisted in the renovation and dedication of the Enan Teahouse in Newport News Park.

Signed its third Sister City, Greifswald, Germany
